Does my policy cover a cruise?

Cruises are not automatically covered as part of your Qantas Travel Insurance policy.

We define a cruise as traveling as a passenger aboard a commercially registered ocean or sea going cruise ship for two or more nights, inclusive of port stops, which commences from or visits an overseas destination, or travelling as a passenger aboard a commercially registered cruise ship for two or more nights, inclusive of port stops, within the coastal sea of Australia.

If you are going on a cruise during your trip, you can select the Cruise Cover option when purchasing a policy to include cover for things like the cancellation of your cruise before the cruise departs, missed shore excursion(s), onboard medical expenses (including COVID-19), ship to shore evacuation, missed embarkation and cabin confinement. If you choose to pay the additional premium, Cruise Cover will be added to your Certificate of Insurance and you will receive cover as described under ‘Cruise optional cover’ in the PDS.

Please note that Cruise Cover and other optional cover (such as Snow Sports and Specified Items) is only available if you purchase your travel insurance policy at https://travel.insurance.qantas.com/ or by calling 13 49 60.

This is a summary of cover and does not include the full terms, conditions, limits / sub-limits and exclusions. Please read the applicable PDS for full details as to what is and is not covered.
