What is a set benefit?

A set benefit is a fixed dollar amount you receive towards eligible optical items, which may vary depending on your level of cover, regardless of what the provider charges. If the provider charges more than the set benefit amount, you'll have an out-of-pocket cost for the difference, subject to annual limits, waiting periods, nib Fund Rules and Policy Booklet terms.
