How optional Cruise Cover can work for your trip

There are a few things you might want to consider when selecting the right travel insurance cover for your upcoming cruise. This could include the destination, the type of cruise, how often and how long you plan to travel for.

  • If you’ve booked an Australian cruise, you can consider Qantas Travel Insurance Australian Comprehensive Plan with added Cruise Cover, which provides cover while cruising in the coastal seas of Australia for two or more nights.

  • If you’re travelling overseas, you can consider a Qantas Travel Insurance International Comprehensive Plan with added Cruise Cover, which provides comprehensive cover while enjoying an ocean or sea cruise for more than two nights that visits or commences from an overseas destination.

  • Finally, if you’re a frequent traveller and have multiple cruise holidays, domestic or international, lined up throughout the year, you might consider a Qantas Travel Insurance Annual Multi Trip Plan with added Cruise Cover. This provides added protection for all of your eligible cruises and any other trips over a 12-month period up to 45 days for any one trip.

It’s important to know that river cruises, harbour cruises, dinner cruises, ferry trips, or a one night cruise, whether domestic or international, don’t fall into the definition of a cruise under the PDS and you may not need to purchase optional Cruise Cover for these trips.  To learn more, please see the relevant Product Disclaimer Statement (PDS) for full details.
