Qantas Airways Limited (Qantas) and Zurich Australian Insurance Limited (Zurich) issue this collection notice jointly with respect to Qantas Travel Insurance. The protection of your personal information is very important to us.

Qantas and Zurich and their related bodies corporate collect information from you that is relevant to providing you with products and services in accordance with both the Qantas Privacy Policy and the Zurich Privacy Policy. Such purposes include making decisions on whether to provide insurance and assistance services, contacting you, as well as enhancing products and services we offer (including research and data analytics). Please refer to the abovementioned policies for the full list of purposes.

Without this information, we may not be able to provide these products and services to you.

Your information may be disclosed between Zurich and Qantas, or by Zurich and/or Qantas to other people or entities involved with the provision of these products and services as set out in the Qantas Privacy Policy and the Zurich Privacy Policy. These may include:

our affiliates or entities to which we are related;
any insurance intermediary involved in the transaction;
consultants, agents, contractors and service providers, and those that act as data processors, auditors or external advisers for Qantas or Zurich;
other parties who may be involved in your care; and
other insurers for the purpose of seeking claims recoveries or to assist them to assess insurance risks.

We may also obtain information about you from some of the above parties where necessary.

Laws authorising or requiring us to collect information include the Insurance Contracts Act 1984 (Cth), Corporations Act 2001 (Cth), Autonomous Sanctions Act 2011 (Cth), A new Tax System (Goods and Services Tax) Act 1999 (Cth) as those laws are amended and include any associated regulations, and other financial services, crime prevention, AML/CTF, sanctions and tax laws.

Qantas Privacy Policy and Zurich Privacy Policy contain information about how you can access or correct the personal information we hold about you, as well as information about how you can make a privacy complaint and how the complaint will be handled.

Zurich may disclose your information in relation to Qantas Travel Insurance to service providers including Travel Guard companies (part of the Zurich Insurance Group), for services such as policy management, medical and travel assistance, claims and complaints handling. These service providers may be based in Australia or overseas: New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, United Kingdom or United States of America. Who the service providers are and where they are located may change from time to time.

Zurich may also need to disclose your information to individuals or entities located in countries where an event occurs giving rise to a claim or as otherwise notified in the Zurich Privacy Policy.
