Qantas Car Insurance awarded highly commended at Finder Car Insurance Awards 2023

Qantas Car Insurance was recognised and awarded highly commended at the Finder Car Insurance Awards for 2023.

Qantas Comprehensive Car Insurance placed ahead of 29 other eligible policies in the category of Car Insurance - Features.

Finder’s detailed scoring system accounted for both price and policy inclusions, with 32 comprehensive car insurance policies being compared overall.

This award underlines Qantas Car Insurance’s commitment to offering consumers high-quality car insurance at a competitive price.

How was the winner chosen?

As part of its detailed comparison, Finder sourced more than 1,000 quotes from 36 customer profiles. These varied in age, gender and location (state-by-state) in order to give the fullest picture of those doing more than most in the car insurance market.

In total, Finder compared 640 features and rated each of these. The final score was broken down as a 70/30 split of features and price. This was done to reflect the cost of living concerns affecting so many Australians in recent years.

Qantas Car Insurance policy features win credit

These are some of the key reasons that Qantas Car Insurance was highly commended for Car Insurance - Features in 2023:

  • Finder research found that – on average – Qantas offered lower pricing than 24 comparable policies including NRMA and Suncorp.

  • Qantas gives its customers up to $750 in protection for personal effects cover. Many other insurers cap their limit at $500.

  • It covers key replacements of up to $1,500. This is $500 higher than most other comprehensive policies on the market.

  • Qantas offers a 24/7 phone and online claims service, to offer support for drivers in the event of an accident.

  • Its policies are issued by Auto & General – a major underwriter who insures more than a million Australians.

Qantas Car Insurance policies are also flexible: they offer a range of optional extras that can add further peace of mind.

Customers have the freedom to choose if they’d like to add their own choice of repairer, rather than ones pre-selected by an insurer.

Roadside Assistance is also available as a policy add-on. Plus, there’s the option to restrict younger drivers in exchange for a cheaper premium.

Multiple ways to boost Qantas Points

Furthermore, in addition to offering a strong bang-for-buck policy, Qantas Car Insurance offers further perks through its longstanding Qantas Points scheme. New customers who join or switch their car insurance to Qantas will earn points for joining plus 1 point per $1 spent on their premium.*

Plus, Qantas Car Insurance helps to incentivise motorists to earn more points by undertaking regular services and tyre pressure checks in the Qantas Wellbeing App. This is timely in-light of recent Finder research that showed some 9 million are driving suboptimal cars in Australia right now, with many drivers skipping key vehicle maintenance.
